My Favorite Podcasts

The Atlanta commute was my arch nemesis. It made me irritated and put me in a terrible mood long after I arrived home from work so I sought out ways to make it better. During my pregnancy I got the Audible app and listened to  all the Harry Potter books and man was it wonderful...except for when my overly emotional self would ugly cry in stand still traffic. Once I was finished revisiting my beloved HP I decided to give podcasts a try and I completely fell in love!

I knew I wanted to subscribe to podcasts that were covering the things I love so here are my suggestions if you are a pop culture junkie like me...

Straight Up with Stassi

If you're a Bravo fan like me you know Stassi from Vanderpump Rules. Her podcasts covers all things pop culture and then some. I love getting the Bravo scoop from her and she always has amazing guests. The variety of her episodes is great and I'm never bored. One of her guests was so funny that I immediately found her podcast after the episode was over and that leads me to...

The host of this podcast is Annabelle Desisto, a comedian who in my opinion is hilarious AF. Her podcasts make me feel like I'm living inside of one of my favorite group chats where we shit on everything and can be petty without judgement. My favorite episode of her podcast so far is a pretty recent one with her "investor"/mom, Nancy. It's three hours but I promise you it flies by because you'll be laughing your ass off the entire time. She is a sweet as she is funny...she writes thank you cards to her listeners that give her reviews on itunes!

last but not least...

Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald

I was always a fan of Heather on Chelsea Lately so when my friend Leanna suggested this podcast I knew I had to check it out. She is so funny and is besties with a ton of Bravo stars so that's always a plus in my book. Her guests are great and her episodes always move in a great pace and flow.

So check these podcasts out when you're making your commute, working out, or in desperate need of a laugh. You can thank me later.

My Favorite {BRAVO} Brides

Anyone that knows me will say that my love for the Bravo Network is borderline obsessive, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Do I have the Bravo emoji app? Duh! Are the many chart toppers by Real Housewives on my iTunes? Of course! So it's only natural that as I prepare for my big day that I reminisce my favorite Bravo weddings.

 Scheana Marie of Vanderpump Rules

This was a very anticipated event for me...I mean it's all she talked about all season. When Kristin brought "Miami Girl" to Sur to confront Tom, Scheana's first reaction was, "you're going to do this the week before my wedding?!" You can't make up this stuff. She was the epitome of a bridezilla but I still loved every minute of it and she gave me so much perspective on how NOT to act during your wedding day. I'm sure she'll look back and only remember the good things which is all that matters. She was indeed a crop top princess and remains on of my favs. She can serve me crispy chicken and pinot grigio anytime.

Tamra {Barney} Judge of  The Real Housewives of Orange County

via

As one of my favorite Real Housewives of all time, I was so excited to see Tamra marry the suave Eddie Judge. She's famous for her one liners (that I use on a regular basis) but when she said her vows to Eddie in Spanish my cold heart warmed up a little. I loved that Vicki and Heather were bridesmaids (they were used in asking my bridesmaids, check it out HERE) and that she had more costume changes than Britney Spears had at her wedding(s). I will say that dangling cake made me so nervous! Here's to hoping that the third time's a charm holds true for my girl.

Kim{Zolciak} Bierman of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Don't Be Tardy

To say that Kim Z is my spirit animal is an understatement. We have so much in common, our love of sweatpants, solo cups, and foul language has made her quite possibly my favorite (tied with Lisa Vanderpump) Real Housewife in the franchise. I respect that she has no problem admitting that she is from humble beginnings and has no shame at getting where she is now. Her relationship with Kroy is wonderful and the way he took on her daughters as his own is nothing short of amazing. I mean when Brielle made her speech at the wedding I was full on uglyyyyyy crying. I'll go ahead and share a secret with you..."Don't Be Tardy for the Party" is being used in our wedding festivities.

and last but not least...

Lauren Manzo of The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Manzo'd with Children

Her wedding hasn't even aired yet but since she's my favorite Real  daughter I just had to include her. Lauren is great because she's never been the "I'm perfect" daughter and has struggled with her weight and I definitely relate to that. I love that her husband, Vito, was her brother Albie's best friend. I have zero shame in admitting that I stalked instagram (mainly Greggy Bennett, my favorite Real friend and scene stealer) the day of her wedding so I could see what everyone looked like. She was beyond beautiful and it looked like the most fun wedding I wasn't invited to. Caroline's response to people being outraged with her wearing white was priceless.

There ya have it, my favorite Bravo brides. I'm knee deep in welcome boxes and bridal party gifts so I've got to head out. Thanks for stopping by and make sure to come back tomorrow when Brian takes over the blog for Wedding Wednesday! Weekending: Welcome August!

Can you believe it's already August?! This year is absolutely flying by! I'm linking up with Biana at B Loved Boston to tell you about my fun and relaxing weekend.

I didn't have to work Friday (WOOHOO) but I didn't get to sleep in because I had to drive to the airport at 5:30AM to get Brian there in time for his flight to Cleveland. Once I got home I took a little nap and lounged around the house until my wine and painting class with some of the ladies of my alumni group. I’m the VP of Programming for my alumni chapter here in Atlanta and I get to plan fun events like this every month.
I love crafting especially when champagne is involved!

We painted the Atlanta skyline.

Everyone with their masterpieces

My little Tori now lives in Atlanta and I couldn't be more excited.

Tori, Kate, and I are all from the same chapter and went to WVU together. It’s so nice to have some chapter sisters in Atlanta!

Saturday morning was filled with binge watching Parks and Recreation on Netflix, cuddling with my puppies, and celebrating the fact that Patricia from Bravo’s Southern Charm retweeted and favorited my tweet of her house as well as the Real Housewife OG Vicki liking two of my instagram pictures. This girl is in Bravo fan bliss!
Mulligan is the puppy on the top left. We adopted him when we moved to GA last year. We have been fostering the little girl puppy on the bottom right a few weeks for my cousin and on Thursday we officially adopted her!

Sunday I cleaned the house and picked up Brian from the airport. We went to IKEA to get some final wedding reception items we needed so that we can take them to WV this weekend for my mom to take to Cleveland in October and then had dinner at The Varsity

I hope you all had a great weekend too and make sure to stop by here on in a couple days for this week’s Wedding Wednesday post featuring my bridal and bachelorette events recaps!

                                                                                                                 XOXO,

Weekend Update: Charleston...made in Carolina.

This weekend I spent in the beyond beautiful city of Charleston, South Carolina with my amazing childhood friends Meg and Ross. The last time I was there I was about 8 years old so it was nice to experience it as an adult this time around. Here are a few highlights from my trip! After dropping our dogs off at The Wag Factory we went downtown to a little Greek place called Saffron where we had wine, hummus, and the most amazing Greek dessert torte that wasn't photographed because we devoured it in about 45 seconds. The next morning my fiance Brian and I decided to walk to through through the city to a little breakfast place we saw had great reviews on Yelp called Sunrise Bistro Xpress, it did not disappoint! Here is my breakfast burrito that was cut to look like sushi and Brian's breakfast pizza that had sausage gravy and an omelette on top, delicious!
I'll be honest a morning stroll seemed like a lovely idea at 9AM when we left the house but the walk back was rough because it was already around 97 degrees by 10AM! However in between my whining that it was too hot I was able to get some lovely pictures... This is Cannon Park. I was told that there used to be a museum here but a fire destroyed most of the museum and instead of rebuilding it they salvaged the front entrance and turned the property into a park, this has Leslie Knope written all over it to me lol!
To my wonderful Bravo obsessed surprise my friends live on the same street, and only about 4 houses down, as Patricia Altschul, the scene stealer of one of my favorite shows Southern Charm. I tried my best to play paparazzi and get some shots of her beautiful home.
Once we got back we quickly changed into our swimsuits and hopped in the car to head to Isle of Palms for a birthday party for my friends' friend and a day at the beach. The beach house we were at was incredible! It had the perfect size pool and even had a full size sand volleyball court. I left my phone in the car so I didn't have to worry about it getting wet at the pool or beach so here's a picture of us crossing the Ravenel Bridge :)
That night we ate dinner at The Tattooed Moose and I had the Thanksgiving Sammy, if you're in Charleston go there and thank me later. Sunday before heading back to Atlanta we went to my friend Meg's salon so that she could do a quick wedding makeup trial for me. It was my first time with airbrush makeup and wowza! It's the only way to go girls! I'll spare you the "before" shot and just let you see the finished product, that stayed perfectly placed for over 10 hours when I washed it off. It made me want to test the 16 hour guarantee airbrush makeup advertises.
So there it is, my quick trip to Charleston. We loved it and can't wait to make another trip up...when it cools down a little!
