Oh Hey, Friday! {I've returned}

Hello everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY! I'm linking up for Oh hey, Friday! to catch y'all up on what I've been doing since I've become Mrs. Schiffbauer!

We've taken full advantage of not worrying about fitting into our wedding clothes and by that I mean eating the worst for you best food around our beloved suburban Atlanta area.

"Cake" ice cream at the ever famous Scoops of Covington (it's on the Vampire Diaries)

We tried Freddy's Steakburgers and Custard for the first time.

Tried a new {to us} place off Covington Square that specialized in New Orleans cuisine.

Brian got a steak and some {not as good as the ones at our wedding} crab cakes.

I got the specialty dish called the pastalaya.

I started my new position at my company. For the past year I've been working as an onsite administrator (temp) at a construction site, yes a steel toe boots, hard hat, and safety vest site. I loved the company so much that I expressed early on that I wanted to be hired on full time at the end of my project if possible. After a lot of help from some amazing people i got a permanent, full time position in the company's payroll department. I started last Friday and have been loving it, especially because I have my own office. #AdultWin

My, not yet decorated, office.

Since we did a non-traditional registry, we did a Honeyfund, we didn't get many "home" presents but we still got to go newlywed shopping with gift cards we got to Crate & Barrel (from my sweet sorority sister Kelly) and Bed, Bath, & Beyond (from one of Brian's co-workers). Here is some of the damage we did at Crate & Barrel.

Our new adorbs wine rack. We got a pair of reds, whites, and champagne glasses to go with it.

The cutest little cork topper.

We made out like bandits!

After our little shopping trip downtown we headed out to the Owl-O-Ween fest at Kennesaw State University. It's a hot air balloon festival filled with live entertainment, food trucks, beer stations, and an Oktoberfest celebration section. We will definitely go to this again next October and if you live in the Atlanta area, or even nearby because they have hotel specials, you should go next year.

They had such cute little photo "stops" throughout the festival.

 Cheeseburger empanada? Yes please!

We're part of a club! #CarlAndEllie

There you have my little catch up session since I've been so MIA but hey I love spending every second I can with my husband. Now I'm off to the airport to catch my flight to Orlando for a fun weekend filled with some of the most amazing people around. I haven't missed Epcot's Food & Wine Festival since 2010 so there's no way i'm breaking that streak. Follow my adventures on my Instagram and Snapchat username: J0rdashian. Now get out there and have a great weekend!!!

Oh hey, Friday! I'm so glad you're here!

It's Friday y'all!!!!!! I know I can't be the only one who's happy it's the weekend! I'm linking up for {Oh hey, Friday!} to tell you about my whirlwind of a week!

Monday was pretty typical work and then playing coach at dance team practice. Their first performance is Wednesday, October 14th and I'm so sad to be missing it but I'll already be in Cleveland in full wedding mode so I'm having someone film it for me.

Tuesday was quite the day! You may have heard me talk about my younger sister and how much I adore her but what you may not know is that we met for the first time in 2011. My mom found her on Facebook of all places! We have the same biological father but were raised separately. Our families have fused together so well and I adore her parents and I'm so thankful that we were both brought up by such extraordinary people. We are truly a modern family and I'm very thankful for them and the fact that I'm treated like one of their own and vice versa.

All of us at one of my sister's cheer competitions in Nashville a couple years ago.

At my sister's high school graduation.

With that being said we both had never really met our paternal side of the family but that all changed on Tuesday. I got a notification that someone commented on one of my pictures on Instagram and it turned out to be one of my paternal cousins! Her name is Thatcher and in a matter of a few hours she connected us with so many of our {Dominican} cousins (two of them being her sisters) and we all have begun to get to know each other! I grew up not looking like anyone in my family (in WV) and had a lot of self image issues because I felt so "different." Luckily I had an awesome mom who taught me that I wasn't different, that I was special. She taught me to be proud of who I was...modern day translation, "Jordi embrace that you're not #basic." When I met my sister for the first time all those insecurities went away because I knew I wasn't alone anymore. Something about having someone that serves as a mirror {in looks and mannerisms} to you is amazing and I can't even begin to describe it, then to see so many more people that look like me is so wild! I'm so lucky to have been blessed with the family that "raised" me and so grateful that I'm getting to learn about the family I had only wondered about for so many years. An infinite amount of happy tears were shed about this and how awesome to have this happen right before the wedding so my mind is happy instead of stressed!

Stolen from Instagram {Thatcher, Ash, & Cherly} It's safe to say our gene game is strong.

Wednesday and Thursday were filled with more work and getting things in order for Cleveland on Monday. Which leaves me to today and the excitement that I'm only a few more sleeps away from getting to put on a pretty dress and marry the greatest guy I've ever met. Have a great weekend y'all!

Oh Hey, Friday! [Best Week Ever]

Hooray for Friday! I'm so happy to be linking up with the ladies over at September F A R M and The Farmer's Wife for Oh, Hey, Friday! Here's a recap of the best week I've had since we moved to Atlanta.

If you follow me on Facebook you saw that last week I finally sold my beloved Heidi Honda. I had been looking for a new car for a couple months now and couldn't find something that felt like "me." I kept making excusing for buying a new car but once I sold mine I decided I wanted to have a car within the next week. We hit the dealerships all weekend, I test drove a bunch and dealt with more car salespeople than I'd like to. On Monday I called back the dealership where we got Brian's new Escape in March and she told me she found a car that had everything I wanted. She sent me a link and I feel in love. Right after work I went and signed the paper's for my new lady love Felicia Ford.

And to answer your question...yes I do say, "bye Felicia!" whenever I walk away.

She has all the bells and whistles I've been dreaming about and a moon roof that became the cherry on top. Here's to having a beautiful car that has my back[up camera] and that I got completely on my own with 0% APR. #AdultWin

Tuesday I got the news I've been hoping for since we moved to Atlanta and was told I'm going to be brought on full time with my company. I've been working as a temp for the past year and completely feel in love with the company. I'm so excited to "officially" be an employee, more details to come later. For now here is my adorable congratulations gifts from Brian, he's just the sweetest.

Being a long distance friend to all my friends is a struggle sometimes. You both have to make the effort to stay active in each other’s lives and I feel like I’m pretty good at it most days. Wednesday was one of those days. After talking with a friend and knowing how down she’s been lately broke my heart but Frontier and Spirit airlines pieced it back together with $39 each way flights so for just under $80 roundtrip I was able to book a much needed girls trip over Halloween weekend!

Thursday night after work we hopped on a flight to spend the weekend in Cleveland. I'm so happy to be able to tie up some loose ends up here before next month and that my bestie, Erika, is coming up from WV to see us!

Just win I thought things couldn't get happier, this morning we got our wedding license!

I'm off to enjoy LebronLand. I hope y'all have a great weekend! Any fun plans? Tell me about it and comment below :)

Oh Hey Friday {9-11-15}

Hello everyone and Happy Friday! As each year passes this particular day always has a hold on me. When I wake up each September 11th I think about where I was on that day in 2001. I remember by 8th grade English teacher [the class I was in when the news broke] telling us that we would remember so many details of this day...what we wore, who we were with when we found out, how our parents would explain this to us and wow was she right!

I remember when I got home from school that everyone was at my house, which was very unusual. After the exchange of "what did they tell you at school" and what not I was told that this was probably the start of a war and that my cousin Jeremy was more than likely going to be headed overseas to "there." To this day it was such a difficult concept to grasp and like many I wondered why this happened. It was so unreal, I had only ever seen this kind of stuff in movies.

Now as I reflect on that terrible day I realize how close our communities became, how families stopped bickering over stupid things and began to appreciate each other, and how proud everyone was to be an American. I miss those feelings. I feel like I can't turn on the news or go online without seeing something hateful and proof of how divided our country is. I'm not starting an argument and I don't want a debate. I just wish everyone would stop for five seconds and remember how they felt at this time fourteen years ago. A time before you could express yourself and your opinions on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. A time when you realized what was truly important and stopped being so selfish and ungrateful.

Today I will be a little nice, ignore hateful posts, tell those people I love them a few more times, and hug the ones I can a little tighter. Come on America...remember how strong and loyal we can be to each other. We're so much better than how we're acting now. GBA.

Oh Hey, Friday!!!

It's finally FRIDAY y'all!!! I don't know about you but I'm soooo ready for the weekend. Today I'm linking up with September Farm and {the farmer's wife} for another Oh Hey, Friday! Here's a recap of my week...

[one]

We got my momma's birthday gift and I wrapped it all cute like this. We shipped it and it should be there by her actual birthday that's on Sunday. She's an amazing woman and an even better mother. She taught me a very important lesson at a young age, "be a parent first, so you can be a friend later." I don't think I'm the only girl out there that agrees with this. I hope I'm half the mother she is and I can't wait for her next "big" birthday in a couple years because we're going to take a bucket list trip together to Ireland, hopefully one like THIS!

[two]

I had a great Wedding Wednesday post that featured three of my beautiful sorority sisters: Rachel, Anastasia, and Allie, you can read it HERE. It was about Catholic weddings and so many people have reached out to me and told me how much they loved it so check it out if you haven't :)

[three]

Mulligan and Mocha decided it would be cool to go into our guest bathroom and nibble on some Irish Spring soap. I'm just glad they got into Brian's bar soap instead of busting open my Aveda shampoo and conditioner. They are both okay and didn't get sick since I caught them early.

[four]

Today is hopefully my last alterations appointment for my wedding dress. As I had mention a couple weeks ago my bustle was messed up so completely new ribbons had to be attached. If all goes well I'll be boxing it up and sending it to my future in-laws house in Cleveland, otherwise...

I'm off to enjoy my weekend with my fiance, only seven more weekends until he's my husband!

Oh Hey, Friday! [link up]

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE! I'm excited to link up again with the ladies over at {the farmer's wife} and September F A R M for Oh Hey, Friday! I'll go ahead and dive into the highlights of my week!

[one]

My day was made when I saw this FETCH Mean Girls shirt at Target and I'm kinda regretting not buying it now.

[two]

As I was browsing on BlogLovin' I saw this post for Blue Sparkling Wine from the Wedding Chicks website. I looked on the company's website and saw that the wine shop in Covington Square called The Cork carried it! We went on Tuesday and got the last bottle they had. The shop is so cute and we're going to go to one of their wine tasting parties hopefully in the next month. I can't wait to pop this bottle on our wedding day!

[three]

I've been admiring the Lilly Pulitzer mouse ears on the Etsy shop called SailBows ever since one of my Disney friends got them. I finally bite the bullet and bought a pair and boy are they cute! Mine are just like this but I got a white bow on them instead of yellow. I'm so excited to wear them on my next trip. She has some many prints...check her out on Instagram to see all the cuteness yourself. I'll probably end up getting another pair in the not so distant future.

[four]

I got to share a delicious meal with two of my closest family friends at the Mystic Grill. You can read more about it on this post. I highly recommend you stop by for a bite if you're passing through, the hot pimento cheese dip and fried pickles are absolutely divine.

[five]

This is a great Friday because I get to see my mom today and the rest of my family tomorrow for the first wedding our family has had in over 14 years since everyone likes to elope or do a courthouse wedding! Here is my beautiful cousin Heather and her soon-to-be husband Ben. Photography credit to Sarah Dunlap Photography.

I've got to get going now so I can prepare to dance the night away at my cousin Heather's wedding tomorrow evening. I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!!!

                                                                                               XOXO,

                                                                             Jordan

Oh Hey, Friday! [my very first link up]

Hello everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY! I'm so excited for my very first link up with Oh Hey, Friday! with the ladies over at {the farmer's wife} and September F A R M. I'll go ahead and get right to the point...here are my five highlights from this week...

[one]

My dog Mulligan (on the right) and cousin's dog Mocha (on the left) could seriously be puppy models if Calvin Klein ever made a dog fragrance line! Look at that smolder LOL :)

[two]

My sweet "Disney" family, the Brankamps, that I made magic for over 5 years ago texted me from Walt Disney World and seriously made my week. I left Disney just a little over a year ago and every time I seem to get sad about it someone sends a little pixie dust that makes it easier without even knowing it! On my very last day working at Disney I made a file for them filled with goodies so that on their next trip I could make magic for them even though I'm not there anymore. Needless to say I got choked up when I told them. #TheMagicLives

[three]

Brian kicked my butt at the gym this week. I wish I was one of those people who enjoys working out, and maybe one day I will be, but as for now when I feel like slowing down I keep thinking WEDDING DRESS!!!

[four]

My friends are the coolest, no seriously. Three years ago while working at Epcot I became great friends with one of our international representatives from Germany named Jana (pronounced Yah-Nah...I get more offended at people saying it wrong than she does lol) and on her last day of work I told her how I was so excited to see her travel all over the world but was incredibly jealous that I would probably never see these places in my life. Right then she made a promise that she would take "me" with her on all her adventures if I made her a Flat Jordan. I made the Flat Jordan with material from work (oops sorry Mickey) and colored her in the infamous Walt Disney World Guest Relations outfit. I thought she might take it a couple places and then it would get lost or something but it's been three years and I still get FB notifications with where Flat Jordan has been. You can see her travels to places like Egypt, Disneyland Paris, and most recently South Africa and Barcelona in this PHOTO ALBUM !

[five]

I've been vicariously living through my bestie Kathleen over at Places I Will Go this week because she began her 16 day trek through Europe. I think the only person leaving more comments on her photos than me is her mom. Kathleen also took at Flat Jordan on her travels and you can see her adventures on instagram with #FlatJordan

And just like that I've done my first link up. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

                                                                XOXO,

                                                                                    Jordan
